2013 October
In October 2013 while based in Dubai, I dived four dive sites off Khorfakkan, Sharjah, one of the seven Emirates of the UAE. Deep Blue Sea Diving collected me from Dubai for the 138 kilometres drive through the desert to Khorfakkan where our dive sites were located, just a short distance from the shore. The weather was hot, very hot. Not that this seemed to trouble my dive guide Mohamed Samir!

Our dive boat, Deep Blue Sea 1, took us first to Coral Garden, east of Shark Island. This dive site had black corals, dandelion coral, horn coral, purple and yellow whip corals and gorgonians. Our second dive site, Martini Rock, is one of the best known dive sites in the U.A.E. and is a huge pinnacle rising from a depth of 22 to just 3 metres below the surface. The following day we dived Inchcape 2, a purposely sunk wreck and Hole in The Wall, a 10 metre long swim-through in shallow water. Both days diving were well organised by Deep Blue Sea Diving and I thoroughly enjoyed them.
