This photograph of a Thresher Shark was taken on 3rd October 2016 at a depth of 28 metres at Monrad Shoal, Malapascua Island, The Philippines with my Nikon D7200 digital SLR and a Nikkor 12-24mm lens at a focal length of 12mm on manual setting with two Inon Z-240 strobes on TTL. ISO 800, 1/160th sec, aperture F4, Exposure Compensation 0.

Normally flash photography is prohibited at Monrad Shoal. As I was shooting for a magazine article I was given permission to take a few shots provided I was supervised by a dive guide and only took each photograph when first given permission by that guide.
