This shot of an Oceanic Whitetip Shark with my dive buddy Chris Powell was taken at a depth of about 5 metres in deep open water near Cat Island in The Bahamas on 5th June 2007 while I was on a M/V Shear Water liveaboard trip.

I used my Nikon D200 digital SLR with a 12-24mm Nikkor lens at a focal length of 12mm on Aperture Priority at F6.3 and two Inon Z-240 strobes on low manual settings. ISO 100, shutter speed 1/80th, Exposure Compensation -0.3 step.
