In February 2010 I flew with Mary Royal to Vanuatu in the South Pacific, an archipelago consisting of 83 islands. The four main islands are Efate, Espiritu Santo, Malakula and Tanna . We stayed at Breakas Beach Resort on Efate and enjoyed two days boat diving with Big Blue. 

Our dive guide, Jerry Songolapa, took us to Pango Cove, Bougainbillea, Twin Bonnies and Awesome Reef.  With no other divers, just Jerry and our boat skipper aboard our boat, 20 meters visibility, 28 degrees water and just the slightest of current, diving does not come any more relaxing than this! For Mary, who was not then a qualified diver, these were ideal conditions for four Try Dives. Although perhaps encountering a sea snake on her first dive was not the perfect start!
