2013 April

In April 2013 Mick Todd and I enjoyed four dives from our liveaboard, MV Sea Escape, at San Benedicto in the Pacific Ocean. This is an uninhabited island, the third largest Revillagigedo island.

One of the four dive sites, The Boiler, is known as a Manta Ray cleaning station. Unfortunately no Manta Rays turned up and unfortunately our hopes of close Hammerhead shark encounters were also dashed as the sea was unusually warm and the Hammerheads kept to the depths. With poor underwater visibility as well, I found underwater photography challenging and as Mick was suffering from a bad ear infection, neither of were too happy.

But on a positive note, I could hear (although maybe Mick could not!) Humpback whales singing to each other underwater and when we surfaced from our second dive, we saw Humpbacks Whales breaching near us.
