Dec. 1999
At 76 square miles, Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Caribbean Cayman Islands and the centre of these islands tourism. Eve and I spend the first week of December 1999 on Grand Cayman, staying at the Spanish Bay Reef Resort on the north-westerly tip of the island. The resort, the resort's dive centre and the weather were all disappointing. At least whilst there we were fortunate enough to meet our future regular holiday companions: Richard and Ann Preston.

Escaping from the "resort" I spent a few days at the Divetech Dive Centre at nearby Turtle Reef undertaking the TDI basic Nitrox and the Draeger Dolphin/Atlantis Semi-Closed Rebreather courses with Dan Hodgins.

Eve Richard and I also enjoyed a dive (Dive 178) with Aquanauts Diving Ltd at the famous Stingray City dive site.
