In August 2004, I travelled to Hastings with fellow Ashford Dive Club members Steve Springett and Nick and Audrey Gittings for my first dive in Hastings at "Goat's Ledge" This dive site on Hastings seafront is an easy shore dive and I would imagine that with good visibility, would be pretty good.

Unfortunately the visibility was very poor, at its worst just 0.3 metres and inevitably this marred what would have otherwise been a most enjoyable dive. Occasionally Nick and I caught sight of bass but other than that all we saw were crabs and a couple of tompot blennies.
